2 wks notice required – FA e-mail (and post) notice to members. Change notice to one week at AGM (allows notice to go with preceding Newsletter).

6

Summer programme.

Butterflies underway. Need to timetable: bats, bees, Whin Sill grass, Ord Drive trees, banded snails, reptiles and amphibians, etc. Also Holy Island "bioblitz", 12th/13th June. Please bring your diaries.

Dates of many events were discussed. FA to produce programme a.s.a.p.

7

Stevenson Bridge lighting scheme.

Have estimated carbon output and possible offset, and sent to Tim Kirton. Are we to do the bat surveys? See front page Advertiser.

No response from Tim Kirton re. carbon offset ideas. FA to e-mail (or write) to see if e-mail got lost during BCC/NCC changeover.
Not clear if we are to survey bats – LC to contact Ruth Haddon.

8

Data.

Any further feedback/comments on sightings table in Review? Maps/data held by Berwick BC re Habitat Survey – Guy Rowland working for County Council, at least temporarily.

It was decided that using "International" English names for birds, etc. was very confusing. Therefore we will use normal British names on newsletter, columns for both on data sheets, alter to just International for EYE.

9

Purchases

Bat detector, tree tapes, GPS. Sorry, not bought yet.

Need to see if apparent fall in price of Batscan software on Alana site is genuine. If so, is it because better version due soon? Should we wait? As price of proposed GPS has risen from Alana, perhaps get from Amazon?
FA & LC to check availability/prices/requirements.
