Molly Hardie

Welcome to the Committee.

FA welcomed M Hardie to the committee and reported that she is working hard on BWG business for which the committee is very grateful.

AGM.

Draft agenda attached – alterations, additions?
Elizabeth – standing down as Events Sec.Thank you so much for truly wonderful job done over last 3+ years. Hope you won't be resigning from Committee as well.

Draft agenda was approved. MW suggested an extra committee post should be created to help with newsletter and computer work. Agreed this be added to the AGM agenda. FA will give the Chairperson Report; ET will give Treasurer and Membership Secretary reports. MW is stepping down as Minutes Secretary, and EB is resigning as Events Organiser. FA expressed thanks on behalf of the committee for EB’s invaluable contribution which has added greatly to the enjoyment and knowledge of the membership. EB has not expressed an intention to leave the committee.Subscriptions for the coming year will remain unchanged.
ET to have membership forms available at the AGM.

Outdoor meetings. Walk at Plantation, few takers. May 4th BTO tetrad; May 14th Hartshope Valley – all organised?
Indoor meetings. JR's talk after AGM.

Surveys

Butterflies (T the M and Cocklawburn) begun.
Anything to report with other surveys?

Butterflies. None seen yet at Cocklawburn. Several of various species seen at Tommy the Miller’s, including Comma.
Bats. LC – 2008 programme is organised.

Records

Molly suggested send our records to EYE and SBBRC. Any problems? Any other groups?

M Hardie is to send BWG records to EYE, which were gratefully received. Decided that records also be sent to Scottish Border Biological Record Centre (SBBRC)

Interest by Maurice McNeely in netting and ringing Pied Wagtails.

Grants

Morrisons – poss. for tree tapes? Ideas, please.

Morrisons – FA to contact re. three girthing tapes at total cost £47.
Northern Gas Networks are not to be approached this time.
Esme Fairbairn organisation to be approached re. bat equipment. Discussion re. types of recording equipment most suitable for bat calls. JI to consult his contacts.

Numerous 18 fixed point photos taken. Sent to Steve Pullen, who has expressed thanks.

EB had produced a report on activities of Berwick SOS group, and has sent posters and requests of sightings to residents of East Ord. Well received.
