Recent events.

10th Dec. Big Cats – excellent talk, but small audience.

Excellent talk but small audience. Agreed not to hold talks in Dec. in future.

Berwick is Brilliant Event on 14th Jan.

Finalise plans. Invites, boards, displays, slide-show, food, etc.

Invites delivered by post and by hand completed. FA to collect boards from library Mon or Tues. Screen is at the hall and JR to collect AV equipment from FA Tuesday. FA has mincepies; ET to get nibbles. JR to get drinks. M Hutcheson has BTO photos. FA to get report on Wagtails. Copies of recent reports to be on display. Tables, mounting materials etc. all organised.
Organisers to meet 6.00pm at hall.

7th Feb – wader count. Run through organisation.
11th Feb – Ian Kille, "Putting Berwick on Geological Map", needs organising.

Request from Steve Lowe for coastal bird count – N and S of Estuary.

Need further info. from Steve.

Interested in roost sites at high tide FA awaiting more detailed info. M Hutcheson wants to do Dodds Well to pier survey of bird movements monthly starting January and will suggest BTO take it over from next year. Excellent.

European approach to problem.

European approach to problem. SA working with European partners re. estuary management/development. BWG invited to take part and has accepted.

Lugworm digging Little Beach

Reply from Phil Davey.

Reply from Phil Davey stating commercial digging is against the law. BBC could pass a bye-law enforcing protection locally. Police should warn off commercial diggers. Andy Swinburn at Berwick Police Station is the person to contact.

Data – maybe delay discussion on this until next meeting?

We need to keep data in consistent form ourselves; form suited to EYE, SBBRC etc; possibly contribute to NBN?

We need to keep data in consistent form ourselves but one which is universally comprehensible. M Hardy and JR have ideas on this and FA to meet them to finalise details.
